Around The World

I know I'm a bit late, but what can you do?!   HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!  We have been so busy with visitors and dinners and parties and all kinds of other tomfoolery that I haven't had hardly anytime to thrift or love on my booth.  All of that made for boring no fuel for the blog and one twitchy little thrifter!
A few days ago though, I went down to my antique mall to pay my rent and decided to do a sale since pretty much everyone else did.  The peer pressure got to me!  Everything over $10 was 15% off.  That small amount helped me to finally sell the Pink Gooseberry Pyrex bowls!  Holy crap I had those for a long time, I was thinking that they would never sell!  The sweet stainless steel bread box also sold, as well as a bunch more ornaments and a set of drinking glasses.  The last half of December was a bit disappointing, but the first half of January seems to already be making up for that.
Part of yesterday was spent taking down my Christmas display.

I need to find more small shelves to put on the table so that I can have items arranged in layers, not just flat and boring.  The chalkboard is naked and begging for something awesome.  Any suggestions?

See that super cool globe in the booth?  I found two of them the other day at a shop I rarely go to but popped in on a maniacal (there was an elevated heart rate and possibly some arguing with a sibling about stopping) whim because they were in the window!  I'm selling that one and keeping this one for our house for a little while.
This fantastic set of mugs was in the same shop.  Wouldn't it be neat as a paint brush organizer?  It is so colorful, it is kind of screaming for something artsy fartsy.

So I think I'm ready for 2013.  The booth is going to get some serious love and attention this year, and so is the blog.  And I'm going to work on getting healthier dammit, even if it kills me!  2012 was a good year for our little family seeing as how we had The Little Dude so not much can top that, but we're all going to try.  He's going to be walking any day now...  It is crazy, sad, awesome and fascinating to watch them grow so fast.  Anyway, enough of.  : )
I'm joining the parties at Apron Thrift GirlSir Thrift A Lot, Sumo's Sweet Stuff and A Living Space.  Have a great week everyone!!!

  2. Happy to see you back! I was missing in action the last two weeks of December too - both in my booth and on my little blog. But hey, at least after such an absence you feel refreshed and more determined to get back at it, right? I do. Also, luckily my booth did well on its own without me saleswise, though when I did go back it was an absolute mess, lol.
    Love that globe btw!!!

    1. It's so great that your booth can sustain itself for a little while without you. The break was nice, and you're right, I am feeling rested and ready to get back at it! Now if the thrifts would get the message and stop being to bare and expensive...

  3. Happy New Year!

What did you price your pink Gooseberry at (just curious)? I like the big owl in your booth. It's rad. The mug carrier is cool, I'd probably donate the mugs back to the thrift & load it up with some cute cups.

    1. The bowls were originally marked at $85 for the set. I got sick of them just sitting there and hardly being looked at, so I separated them and sold them individually. They ended up going for around $70 because I was running a sale. Whoever ended up with them got a sweet deal!

    1. While I hate to hear that your December was a bummer too, it makes me feel a little better, like it wasn't just something I was doing wrong. : )

  5. I am in love with your header!!! Your booth is pretty cool also. What about doing something for Valentine's Day for the chalkboard? Maybe a cupid (I would trace it onto there myself, because I am the world's worst artist).

    1. Thanks Pam! A cupid is a great idea! My art skills aren't awesome either. I did see a cool mini opaque projector the other day that would make it way easy. Thanks for stopping by!
