Another Case of Thrift Price Madness

So things have been crazy busy around here,  and it doesn't look like it's going to slow down anytime soon.   We will soon be embarking on a bathroom remodel that I'm hoping to get done before April (there is a fabulous reason for that which I will share later).  Needless to say, I haven't gotten much thrifting done this week, but was able to sneak away for a bit last night.  This is what I found.
A complete set of freakin' primary colors refrigerator dishes!  Shut up!  My heart skipped a beat, then sunk to my toes when I saw the prices.  Lets just say that it would have cost more than $45 (too much to even get them for the lids) for this set, at the thrift shop!  Also, check out the condition of the two red ones.  Dishwashered beyond saving!  The blue one was also wicked scratched and scuffed, but the yellow one was in good shape, so I did bite the bullet and bring it home.  Being desperate for Pyrex is a dangerous thing!
I found a few more goodies that I will post about as soon as I get a chance to photograph them.
For now I will head over to the The Colorado Lady for Vintage Thingie Thursday.  Have a great week everyone!

  1. Wow! More than $45 for the set...at a thrift? That is crazy, especially when not in pristine condition. Awesome find, aweful pricing. I can't blame you for leaving it behind.

  3. Most all Pyrex finds are very costly. Seems to be coming more popular each day. Perhaps I better sell what I have.

  4. That is an outrageous price. Do you have a Pyrex flinch point? Mine is $10 for something pristine. Absolutely pristine, that is :-)

  6. OMG. From the shelving it looks like a Value Village/Savers... was it? I went & spent $6.99 on a piece of utensiled Pyrex today, a pattern you rarely see in these parts & a piece I have never seen in the wild. I am hoping to make it look beautiful again. If not, back to the thrifts with a little note inside that fixing it didn't work!
