Trying Not to Jinx Myself

Okay, so I know two posts ago I said that the next post would be full of newly remodeled bathroom pictures but I apparently jumped the gun because it isn't quite ready yet.  I'm just so excited to share it with everyone!
Aside from that, my booth and Etsy sales have been going pretty strong and steady for the past week.  It's so exciting and fun!  Pyrex is selling like crazy in the booth, so much so that I have decided to try (try is the operative word here) to only thrift for Pyrex for a while.  That way I can keep up and still save some money for Junk Bonanza (less than a month away!).
I was beginning to stress freak out that I wasn't finding any Pyrex when I hit the mother load in a skeevy indoor flea market and found a few good pieces at the thrift.  The Mom found some good pieces too, all in one glorious Pyrex-y day!

I also found this sexy Blendo pitcher.  I'm going to take a little gamble and sell this one on Etsy.  I'm nervous about shipping glass, but I think my shipping skills have come far enough along to handle it.

And speaking of sexy objects, this is the lamp I found last week.  Oh man, isn't it fabulous and super sexy?!  Thankfully The Husband really liked it so we get to keep it.  It must have been in someones garage shop because it was covered in black dust and grime but fortunately for us, the Magic Eraser made good work of that.

I also found these pretty little mid century Culver Roly Poly glasses.  I don't seem to sell glasses very well in the booth, so I will probably list them on Etsy.  What do you guys normally do with your vintage glasses you don't keep?  Have you ever had any breakage issues when you ship glass items?

I'm joining the parties at Apron Thrift GirlSir Thrift A LotSumo's Sweet StuffRemnantThe Thrifty Groove and A Living Space.  Have a great week everyone!

  3. WOW - great Pyrex score. I wouldn't be too scared of shipping glass. I have shipped quite a few items in my Etsy shop. The biggest issue has been rising costs of shipping due to weight. And packing material adds a surprising amount of weight! As long as you don't compress the packing material (ie. packing it really tight around objects - it needs room to cushion and absorb jostling) you should be good. Perhaps get shipping insurance so you're covered? Good luck!!

  5. Holy moly so much Pyrex! I agree with Tanya about shipping glass. Make sure your box is big enough to have plenty of extra space for soft packing materials around your bubble-wrapped glass. We always ask our friends and colleagues to save their extra packing stuff for us so we can reuse it, and that stash definitely comes in handy when we have to mail something fragile like glass! Packing peanuts used to drive me crazy, but now I've realized that they are actually really good at what they do :) Also, when in doubt, just double box it, with another layer of packaging between the inside box and the outside.
Thanks for linking up with us!

  6. Great haul! I love the lamp and glasses. I think it's funny that people are so into pyrex...I live near corning, ny where it was originally produced until the '80s. Everyone here has vintage pyrex. You can't get rid of it, there's so much of it around! I love the pyrex you found, though. Very pretty!

  8. I have a set of those exact same culver poly glasses (punch size). For dinner parties I often use them at place settings with a white tea light inside. They are beautiful and festive. Are you sure you want to sell them instead of keeping them to use yourself?.

  10. Love that lamp! Is it a Dazor? I have a Dazor floor lamp and am very tempted to paint it a bright glossy yellow but I am nervous to. And that Pyrex haul is amazing! Maybe some of your Pyrex luck will rub off on me :)
