This is what we have now!
Isn't it dreamy?! I have it on good authority that this is a crazy awesome shower. Can you believe I still haven't used it yet? The tile in here is my favorite thing about this bathroom. The glass combined with the flat stones is stunning. And I'll toot my own horn here...I picked it out! We moved out a wall and the floor drain here to make the shower larger. Our friend is a plumber so he helped us do a lot of this work. He is the reason we did this in the first place. We thought it was a lost cause, but he suggested bumping out the wall and expanding the shower. I'll inflate his ego a bit, he totally saved the day!
This fabulous towel rack is an Etsy purchase that The Mom found. The colors match everything perfectly.
I wish I could get better pictures of the vanity. I need a wide angle lens for that though. It is a simple one piece purchase from Lowe's. And the toilet paper holder I bought at Junk Bonanza fits right in! It's a vintage golf club, and I'm telling you, if it fit in my golfing Mother-in-Law's suitcase she would have stolen it!
Here's a slightly better shot of the vanity.
And I love my little Ikea shelves! Gotta have a place to put a few vintage dodads. I'm still working a bit on the decoration part, but so far I like it.
So that is our new basement bathroom. We (mostly The Husband!) did a lot of the work ourselves but also had some really great contractors. I LOVE how it turned out. So much so that I get a little depressed when I go into my boring master bathroom and remember that this lovely space is downstairs. What do you guys think?!

Gosh Melissa,
ReplyDeleteThat is simply gorgeous! How hard is it to keep the glass clean in the shower? I would love to have a walk in shower stall...but its tub here! I think you and your hubs did a marvelous job in color selection and installation...and your friend as well!
This really turned out awesome! I love the look of the glass tile and everything matches so nicely. Sounds like the "before" was pretty awful!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful, I love it!! We did a basement bathroom when we moved into this house too, it might have been worse than yours, it had 70's wood panelling on the walls, talk about ugly!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! We have an original pink bathroom that we would never change, but if we had to I would definitely steal that tile in the shower!
ReplyDeleteOMG! Your bathroom turned out AMAZING!! I love love love the shower and can't believe you haven't used it yet. What's wrong with you? :-)
ReplyDeleteHow crazy that your mom found a towel rack that matches everything almost perfect? Moms have a crazy knack for stuff like that, don't they? I am totally stealing your wire basket hanging from above the toilet idea. Perfect for towels or whatever.

I've had to redo every single room in my house since I bought it 4 years ago... and I'm on the last (and most expensive) room to redo - the kitchen! It has been half painted for about 2 years!
ReplyDeleteThe bathroom looks fabulous! It's a shame you couldn't find the before pics, it would be a great remodel to submit to one of the DIY magazines. Our house was built in the 50's and still has all the original fixtures and rack. I love the tile and WOW finding a towel rack that matched perfectly. It all came together beautifully.
ReplyDeleteWhat do I think? Dreamy, indeed! You did a great job, it's fabulous! I'd love having tile like that in my bathroom!

WOW. That is downright inspirational. I LOVE the colors -- so soothing and spa-like. Beautiful, beautiful job.
ReplyDeleteThat shower is bigger than some apartments I've seen, LOL!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors and attention to detail. This is a really beautiful bath!
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOSH! This is beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where's the basket above the toilet from? LOVE THE BLUE TILE!
ReplyDeleteI think it's fabulous! You really chose well, looks like it should be in a magazine. I would be spending a lot of time in that great shower, lol.
ReplyDeleteA step-in shower! What a dream! Love it...the tile color is just right
