Booth Update

I floofed the booth a bit yesterday morning and met one of my regular customers.   Can you believe that, I have a regular! SWEET!!! She said she really liked my booth and got stuff there pretty frequently,  which is awesome!   Thanks so much Jen (I sooooo hope I got her name right,  I'm the WORST with names, much better with faces).  Also, it took an enormous amount of self control to not hug her and tell her I love her...
I'm going to start putting more effort into freshening up the joint, ya know, for my regulars.  :-)
Check out that sexy lamp that I scored the other day!   It was pretty hard to part with that one.  I added the super cute high chair that the best bud found last week.  I'm hoping people can see it as it is kind of squished in there.
My new neighbor is kind of crowding in on me, but it's ok.  He is drawing people in to our little alcove and that is what I asked for, I think...
My June booth sales have still been lacking, but my Etsy shop is doing pretty well.
What about you guys.  Which one wins, booth or online sales?
Keep sending us your rain vibes and prayers or doing rain dances.  Another fire started yesterday about 100 miles Southwest of here. The smoke is so thick here, half my neighborhood was out last night looking for a new local fire.  Crazy...

  1. No wonder she likes to visit your booth. You have so many nice things to share.

  2. That lamp is fab!!! Congrats on your regular! I have a couple of regular customers on Etsy, and I'm the same way -- have to refrain from signing my messages to them "xoxo." ;)

  3. How nice to meet your regular! I met a dealer recently as I was shopping and it was a mutual admiration society thing. The booth looks great too. I always think about opening a booth but have yet to take the plunge. Do you have a preference? Booth or Etsy?

    1. I like them both actually. Merchandising and floofing the booth is super fun. And so are photographing and describing the items for Etsy. The booth can stink sometimes because it is weather dependent here, and Etsy is a pain some days because postage is crazy high. It is terrible to have an shipping be more than the cost of the item.
It's just a hobby for me, but it's a good one! I love it!

  5. Well, I don't have a booth or an etsy but if your booth was in my local mall, *I'd* be a regular! I bought a bunch of stuff for my future booth today for crazy good prices! ♥

  6. Your booth looks great! I might steal your idea and hang a little bunting sign in my booth- it's so eye-catching and cute!

I know what you mean about having a "regular." I recently found out that a friend of a friend (someone I don't know) frequents our antique space and that made me SO happy! I guess it's just nice to know someone "gets" you and connects with your style. Especially for us because our booth has a distinct (more youthful) look compared to the the general style of the mall we sell in.

I have to say I prefer selling in a booth rather than Etsy because it's a lot easier. Having said that, your audience is so much bigger that I guess it's worth the hassle (and postage prices!)

  7. It's packed!

    I priced a booth today... 10x6 is $225 (+13% tax), $20 advertising, $10 insurance, 15% commission & credit card fee.

I don't think I can move that much merch.. unless I start estate saling & stuff.

    1. It would be nice to be able to split the cost with someone or someones, but, I have no friends.

    2. Yeah, I don't have any that would do it with me either. I wonder if you could give the owners your info and have them call you if someone wants to do the same thing. Ya know, have a booth but split it with someone to save on the cost a bit. It might take a while, but you never know I guess.

  8. Great booth! I love online, but there is nothing like seeing the goods in person. When I had a booth I also met a regular while restocking, it was a thrill! Plus I brought in more of what she told me she liked. A booth here is $200 a month! My little junk and linens won't cover that :( Probably will be consigning again soon.

You have such good stuff.....going back to relook, LOL!
