Wanted Wednesday - New Booth Shelving

Lately I've felt like the booth needs an overhaul, like a big one.  Granted, my booth isn't really large enough for a massive remodel, but it could totally use some interesting new shelving, but on the cheap.  I have been exploring my options and poking around on Pinterest (or Evil Time Sucker that I LOVE) and come up with three cool options.
This one is from Books&Bits&Pieces which looks to be a private blog, I can't get a link.  While I don't understand that, I love this shelf.  I found some fruit crates on Craigslist for $15 each, but I would need 12 of them and I'm not sure I want to spend that much.  Did I say it needs to be CHEAP?
Ikea made this one and featured it on their blog Life At Home.  I love the idea of a flexible display like this.  It's a bummer that Ikea no longer makes these wooden boxes.  I'm going to hit a few craft shops today to see what they have wooden box wise that doesn't cost a fortune.  Yeah, I know, I'm dreaming...
This idea from Lowell in Portland is probably my favorite.  It can be built to my specifications and changed around easily.  I'm just concerned that maybe it's a bit too grungy for the style of items I carry.  Bah!  I don't know!  It's hard as hell to come up with something cool, changeable and cheap!  If I used new cinder blocks it wouldn't be so bad, but then it starts getting pricey...blah blah blah!
So there you have it.  I got nothing!  Ha!  One of these days I'll find the perfect option and there will be rays of light and rainbows and angels singing "hallelujah!"
Which one do you like?  Also, if you have a better idea, for the love of everything good and holy, send it my way!

  1. I'm with you that the third option is a little too college dorm room/first apartment for all you amazing wares. I have a feeling that now that you have decided you need shelving, you are gonna come across just the right thing. Kind of like your motherload of Pyrex:-)

    Happy 4th!

  2. Love all of these ideas! Do your antique mall owners or fellow vendors having shelving to spare or shelving you can get for cheap? My store owners have lots of shelves in storage that they lend to vendors to use. I was going to give in to Target or Walmart when I couldn't find shelves I wanted but was glad I asked around, first. Gotta keep that overhead low! :D

    1. I'm not sure if they have any spares, I'll have to ask. Good idea!

  3. I like the first and second options the best..but display pieces add up quick. I have one side of my garage full of stuff for my shows that I found cheap and works well. Always a hunt for the right thing...good luck!

  4. I'll tell you what I did. I found local places that always seem to have those wooden palates lying around and asked if I could have them. I then pull them apart and my dad helps me make the wooden crates. I have a whole wall in my storage room that is just wooden crate shelving. Easy way to to get your wooden boxes for cheap! Also, to give the wood an antique (grey) look (if they're not already), put white vinegar in a jar with some steel wool. Let sit for a few days and then stain your wood. This is a trick I love! :)

    1. I've done that stain before and gotten such neat results! You're right, it's a great trick!
I might do a pallet thing, but they are actually kind of hard to find around here lately. The DIY movement has made them scarce.
Your dad sure is a helpful dude! : )

  5. The last one is too DIY for an antique booth & with all it's little cubbies & separaters, it's actually a bit distracting. I get disorientated looking at it.

The first one is my favorite. I like it simple. My all time favorite shelving for an antique booth is pure white shelving, the same size as the first one. I might be going to an antique market north of me soon & they have a nice booth.. I will photograph it. Is your table in your booth for sale or just there for you to display items?

I like this shelf to display items, http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eclUjGxkzSw/TT-dTFogRqI/AAAAAAAAGGc/_OC5FqSAOAA/s320/%2BCollinsville%2BAntique%2BCenter%2B1-11%2B%252847%2529.JPG.

    1. I like those shelves too! I'm going to keep my eye open for a new option, but for now I'm good. You are right, the last one is too DIY for a mod antique booth. I like the first one but I'm just not sure I can spend the money right now.
I'd love to see the booth! Have you made anymore headway in getting your own booth?
The table isn't for sale right now. I'm waiting until I find another cool table at a good price before I put that one up for sale.

    2. No headway, no...

Don't think it will happen anytime in the near future, but I'll still buy with the intention of one day opening. Half the stuff I buy is for "the booth". I could probably do a booth if I had a few other people in on it, but alas, nobody!

  6. Michael's crafts has little wooden crates here for $13.99. I have one blogging friend who bought them whenever she had her 40% or 50% coupons. She painted hers and I thought of doing the same but I hate to paint.
