How to Stand Out

How am I going to make my booth stand out from the rest of the crowd?  This question has been rolling around in my head for the past week, nagging nagging nagging.  Part of it will be the merchandise itself.  Look at that case, it's full of wonderful and fabulous things so I don't think that will be an issue!   It seems like one of the largest variables in this will be how well we are able to grab peoples attention during that first split second glance down the hall.  I want people to see  our booth from afar,  and think, "there has to be something neat there, look at that ___."  So what do I use to fill in the blank?  Anyway, I'm thinking we should have some kind of colorful banner or bunting or garland that sticks out of the wall so it can be seen from behind my neighbors.  I've also been playing with the idea of using chalkboard paint on the entire wall.
I saw this garland on Pinterest and liked the idea.

This is from Honestly...WTF and I like it because it looks fun and fluffy and it seems like something people would want to touch because I want to touch it!  I would probably go without the loosely hanging pieces of yarn and use a single color like this great neon blue wool yarn I have.
This is a horrible picture, and the stuff is the current owners, not mine, but I would like to see if anyone has any advice for me about making it stand out.  No idea is too strange  or outlandish!!!

I'm going to continue to ruminate over this while I head over to Smiling Sally for Blue Monday and then I'm going to join the party at Mellow Yellow Monday.  Two parties in one day!  I'm a wild and crazy chick!  : P

  3. The pom-pom garland is a cute idea! I like the yarn you plan to use since it's varigated and that will create some interest in the pom-pom color. Good luck with the booth! Since it looks like you have a lot of Pyrex, maybe you could decorate with a kitchen theme. Maybe make a cute window with a shelf on the back wall -- you could use your chalkboard idea as a "menu" for some of the things you want to feature. Just some thoughts!

  5. I like the idea of Sarah. The first time I see are the pyrex they are gorgeous. I see pink and green may I know how much are they? And aside from selling your stuff at your booth why not display it here in your blog too. You can use the sidebar and put a price on it with your email to communicate with you.

    1. That is a good idea Kim, thanks! And the Pyrex ranges in price, but most of the green is $5-25 and the pink is $10-$85 (that is for the bowls that are pretty hard to come by)/ Thanks for coming by!

  6. Back again! Just read your comment on my blog (about the chair I found on the side of the road) and LOVE your chicken wire suggestion! Since I'm not planning to actually sit in it, that would work very well for photos for my vintage shop! Thanks!!
